E te Pāpā, whakaritea tō waka kia whakawhiti atu rā i tēnei ao ki tēnā kua whakaritea rā e ngā mana o tuawhakarere. Ko Pūmahara hei pītau whakareia, ko Wawata hei hoe urungi, ko Kōrero-tuku-iho hei takere.

Roimata, e heke; E hūpē, e rere! Maringi rā kia mākona rā te pīkoko tou areare o Aituā.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our esteemed koroua, Rangihau Te Moana who passed away at his home last night.

We will be bringing him in to Te Atawhai o Te Ao Tūroa this afternoon at 4:30pm. We invite all whānau and tamariki to come and support as we welcome him and begin our period of mourning and remembrance. Please be here no later than 4pm.

Whānau who wish to contribute are welcome to provide donations of kai. Specifically we would like to ask for baking, and kai paramanawa. Any koha kai please bring directly to Te Uru Kahikatea.

Your presence and tautoko are greatly appreciated during this time of loss for our kura and hāpori.

Ngā manaakitanga,

Nā te ohu whakahaere o Te Whānau Tahi.

New trial meal āpōpō for kura lunches

Wed Jun 17 03:26pm

Tēnā koutou e te whānau

Our kura is one of two kura in Aotearoa helping the School Lunch Collective (the provider of the funded school lunches) trial one new meal a week for the next few weeks. These meals are different to the regular menu provided to kura receiving lunches.

This weeks dish is a Lasagne Bake and will be delivered tomorrow. There is a dietary alternative for ākonga with dietary requirements.

Our kaiako will be collecting feedback on behalf of ākonga through surveys and we will be feeding these back to the School Lunch Collective each week – good and bad!

We ask that whānau tautoko the trial by encouraging their tamaiti/tamariki to try tomorrows lasagne bake. This is especially important for those tamariki that bring in their own lunch from home.

We will let whānau know the trial meal each week, once we have been notified of what it is going to be.

Rangi hokohoko kai

Thu Jun 11 10:30am

This Friday our tauira tau 9 and tau 10 will be having a bake sale at kura from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. At this time tauira from kuratahi and wharekura will be able to choose from a selection of foods to buy for lunch.

Below you can find the kai being prepared by each group as well as the costs involved.

If your child will be purchasing kai, their payment tomorrow must be made to the tari by cash only. This makes things easier for our kaimahi in the tari.

Thu May 28 01:23pm

On Friday, 5 June the team from the Department of Māori Indigenous Health Innovation (MIHI) will bring fifth year medical students to Te Whānau Tahi. Health checks will cover ākonga height, ears, eyes/vision and heart health. Whānau will be contacted with any important findings, and given advice if other health referrals are needed. Whānau are welcome to attend alongside their tamaiti if they wish.
